Head to the Twentymile Ranger District and indulge in one of the best kept secrets in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Home to a diverse variety animal and plant life, there are trails ranging in length from .5 - 20 miles in length.

The Appalachian Trail

Begin your hike with a stunning view of Stecoah Gap. On a clear day, enjoy the site of Fontana Lake from a bird's eye view. Hike along the ridge for as long as you would like and consider an evening view of the moonrise at the end of the day. It's an incredible treat!

Explore Hooper Bald, Huckleberry Knob, and other stops along the way as you take in the sites and vistas you've been dreaming of. (Also a great option for auto touring if you don't wish to hike)
